When I was younger, I thought Scarborough Town Centre was the bomb. It had every store I needed, and every store that other malls had and simply put, it was close to where we lived. But ever since Wal-Mart opened (probably 5-6 years ago?), the mall has just gone downhill from there and that's when my dislikening of that mall began. And after doing some Boxing Day shopping downtown, we dropped by STC to see if there were any deals, since it was on our way home. Finding a parking spot was not a problem. Then as soon as I walked in, I realized why I never want to step foot in that mall again (for a while).
10. Too many people
9. The stores suck now -- some stores look like they could open up in a strip mall
8. Too many people
7. I could find the same stores (and more) at another mall, just 10 minutes north of my house
6. Too many people
5. People who hang out/shop there have a major attitude problem
4. Too many people
3. Where's the non-white population? Coming from Ottawa to Scarborough = culture shock
2. Too many people
1. Did I mention there's too many people? You can never walk straight. You'll always have to make your way around people, cut in front of slow walkers, cut in front of strollers and try not to get hit by oncoming strollers.
Ok, so maybe perhaps it's not really 10 reasons, but more like 5. Anyway, it's like this everytime I go and not just on Boxing Day. I do not really enjoy shopping there anymore. We only go there for things at Wal-Mart (if it's absolutely necessary...otherwise, we avoid it as much as possible).
