I have yet to post pictures up of my summer place because of my computer situation. But now that everything's been fixed (thanks to my bro for reformatting it and to Leon and Danny for the Internet), I am now able to post pictures and blog! So here we go:
I went from 8 months of this:
To 4 months of this...:
...with a window view of this:
As you can tell, I don't really live in a room per se, but rather I live in the living room. The living room is spacious enough that it could be divided into two with my wardrobe and shelves acting as a wall and a curtain as my door. My room is very spacious (you can't really tell in the picture) but I have a lot of room. Anyway, it's only for 3 1/2 months so I don't mind living there. I don't think I would be able to "live" permanently in a room without a door. I really enjoy the natural lighting that I get. I don't have to turn on the lights till about 8:30pm, which will really save my friend a heckuva lot of electricity! LOL.
As you could probably also tell from the picture, I didn't really unpack a lot of things (i.e. there are boxes underneath my desk and bags behind the green leaf thing. I didn't even bother putting up any posters except for my calendar because I didn't want to go through the hassle or putting them up and then having to take them down in a matter of a few months.
I also enjoy the nice view of my window. During sunset, I can see the sun set over Parliament Hill and the Gatineau Hills. Too bad my camera skills and my camera are not very good, or else I would take a picture of it! It's sooo pretty! Oh...and I see NDHQ *gasp*.
Anyway, I will take this all in until I leave in mid-August.
After a few weeks in Toronto (and maybe a week in Vancouver), I will head back to Brooks. I got my contract the other day and to my astonishment, I was not put back in Unit 88! But Cort, Danielle, and I are together, along with another girl that we do not know, so at least there's some positive to that. So I went to housing and asked what the dealio was and the receptionist (who was REALLY nice...I always had to deal with the other [biotchy] lady there) was confused as to why I wasn't put back into the same unit because when you renew a contract, you're supposed to get the same unit back! Anyway, the Housing Officer wasn't around when I was there, so the receptionist told me that when she returns, she will ask her my question and e-mail me back. Well, a couple of hours later, I received a response and the deal behind my new unit was that because the cluster that I was in, is now reserved for first years. Oh well. At least that is a logical answer.
So yeah....new unit in September with brand spanking new furniture, fridge, and stovetop/oven and includes air conditioning. Although my rent has been skyrocketed from last year, I'm still happy to be living on campus. I find living off campus to be very inconvenient and weird. And I will not have to move out until I graduate. Thank goodness. I'm so sick of moving!

Well, new unit would mean that you will not be reminded about that dreadful night that Richard Simmons was in your room for J2's viewing pleasure. Nope, it's a brand new start. I wonder what new memories you'll have in the new unit? J2 got any other crazy weird stuff to freak out lydia?
let's not remind me (or anyone else that was there that night) of him.
i think it was him that infected my computer.
Ummm...we can't really see all that much from your pictures...didn't know it was part of the living room until I was actually there! hahaha...and when did you take a picture out of your window??
