5 more Canadian soldiers make their journey home for one last time. Really hits you hard to see the sacrifices these men and women have to make day in and day out, especially those that have military connections.
Being back at NDHQ this time around is somewhat different. With more Canadian soldiers killed in action (or by friendly fire accidents), the mood at CFSU(O) has changed. Since it's the duty of my unit to take care of the internment ceremonies at Beechwood, many people are away from their desks when such an event occurs. Take for example today's internment ceremony for Sgt Stachnik. By the afternoon, most people were gone to attend or participate in the ceremony, especially the military members. Such an eerie atmosphere this afternoon...
And in Outlook, I see more and more little "globes" beside people's name...meaning they're deployed from their home unit. They're not necessarily in Afghanistan, but it goes to show that Canada's military is truly around the world.
Back posts from the last week should be coming soon as my Kodak Easyshare USB cable has arrived...Thanks bro.
