One of the family (more so relatives) dinners I went to over the holidays was at the Great Khan Mongolian Grill. I've never been to such a restaurant, so it was my first experience and I just happened to have my camera with me that night since during the day, my bro and I took our friend from Vancouver on a little touristy adventure to Mennonite country. Anyway, I'm usually not a big eater, but I purposely ate a small lunch (croissant and water) so that I can save room for the evening's meal. Anyway, I documented my way through the dinner. Here's a pictorial adventure of 'How to Create Your Own Meal' at the Great Khan Mongolian Grill.
1. Start off with your selection of meat
2. Choose from a selection of shrimp, pepperoni slices, calamari rings, fish balls, and tofu
3. Choose your vegetables (lentils, bok choy, spinach, broccoli, etc.) and select your noodles
4. Top it off with more vegetables (red and green peppers, onions, snow peas, etc.)
5. Top it off with some 'pre-mixed chef sauce' (teriyaki, honey garlic, soya sauce, etc.)
6. Top it off with more sauce (sesame oil, satay, etc.)
7. Final product before it gets cooked up
8. Pass it along to a chef where he will stir fry it up for you like this
9. After about a 30-second wait, he will pass it back to you all cooked up. My bowl was completely packed when it was raw. After the stir fry, it turned out like this
So I ate a couple of more bowls like that and about 5 plates from a pre-prepared buffet table. I never ate so much before...I felt so stuffed at the end. It was a fun-filled night and we stayed there until closing time, which was around 10:30pm.
