It has been a very difficult past couple of weeks to get any motivation to do well. I don't know why. Perhaps it's because school is nearing it's end and all I want to do is just pass and move on. One side of my brain tells me to do well and maintain the good marks that I have. The other side of the brain tells me to just finish off the papers and assignments. What to do? Do I just do a mediocre job? It's difficult. But I think I have to go with the first option. Especially since I'm not yet guaranteed to be bridged in.
Anyway, I'm trying a new study method. It involves Morisset, but in a more personal and custom way. See, in Morisset, I get a lot of work done because I am not distracted by the Internet, music, food (!) and just staring out the window. But since it's the exam period, everyone is at the library. All the cubicles are filled. There are the very studious people, then the not-so studious people, who annoy the heck out of me.
After spending yesterday morning and a bit of the afternoon at the library yesterday, I realized that I cannot study with a lot of people around me, even if I cannot see them (or partially see them). So, I returned home and did something I've never done before: replicate the cubicles of Morisset (but without the explicit profanity and sexual comments). I put ThinkPad away and disconnected myself from the Internet or music (except for faint sounds of the radio). All I have on my desk are my books, articles, papers and a pencil and eraser on the desk. And guess what? Success. I managed to get a lot more work done. Now, I have completed my last research paper of my undergrad for Tuesday and will begin studying for my exam that is also on Tuesday.
