Canada's Highest Ranking Soldier

I met (more like saw) Gen. Rick Hillier, Chief of Defence Staff in the service elevator this afternoon. Stan and I were going to the loading docks to deliver his old desk chair, so we had to take the service elevator. I was a little star-struck (more surprised though) to see him in the service elevator. There were other people in the elevator so I couldn't be like "omg omg omg...." like a teeny-bopper.

When Stan and I got off (on the wrong floor...tee hee), we both looked at each other like "why is the General taking the service elevator?" lol. Weird...and Stan said that he usually has an entourage with him, but no one was with him.

Btw...the loading docks at 101 is sooo cool. It's kinda like the movies....I think. I love the doors. tee hee. I don't think I'm allowed to take pics so I won't. I wouldn't want to ruin my chances of returning or be arrested by MP Coy!

Can you believe one of my goals prior to my work-term was to be able to see Gen. Rick Hillier?! Haha...I wonder if I should include that in my work-term report (which I've already begun, like I promised myself I would -- to start early and not procrastinate on it!).

On another note, has anyone noticed that there have been more and more Canadian Forces recruitment ads popping up on the Internet and showing on TV?! Or is it just me, because I'm part of the DND family now?
