Weekend Post

Short and sweet because I've got some chores/errands to do:

Saturday
I managed to complete Christmas shopping by going to Salem's. Taking the bus there is a pain in the butt. I should of went prior to this weekend because it was jam packed. After getting my things, I took the bus back to OCAC. It was a long journey because I didn't really know how to take the bus back from Meadowlands/Merivale back to downtown so took the bus all the way to Tunney's Pasture, then to Bank Street, where I proceeded to wait for either the 2 or 85. I think there is another way, but alas, I made it just in time for the ESM Christmas Party.

This was my first time attending the ESM Christmas Party because in the past years, I had to study for exams or was already home. I figured since I was here and had nothing to do, I might as well enjoy the company of my fellow brothers and sisters. Turned out quite fun. The food was decent, although I missed out on some of the turkey because I was near the end of the food line. Boo. We watched Charlie Brown's Christmas and played a few games. One of them involved making a modern nativity scene using limited supplies. Our team won 2nd prize!

There were also door prizes available and I won the biggest prize of them all - $40 Gift Card to Bayshore Mall! YAHHH!!!! I was soo happy, though I would of prefered the one to Chapters, because it would narrow my choices down. Since there's sooo many stores at Bayshore, I'm going to have to spend wisely....Leafs wear? DVDs? Clothing? Oye.....

Sunday
Went to church (almost didn't make it because I couldn't fall asleep. I don't think I actually slept till 4am, although I was in bed by 11:30pm) and since it was Chris' last Sunday in Canada, some of us went to the Greek Souvlaki House at Baseline and Prince of Wales (pretty good place although it can't compare to the stuff I've experienced on the Danforth!). Then Lucy dropped me off at Tunney's and I decided to hop over to MEC to see if there was anything good on sale. Nothing much. Then went to Elgin Sports to see if there was anything good. Of course, I want to purchase a lot of their football gear, but alas...no money! Channers should return there to work. I wanted to stay out of the apartment as long as possible because the weather was gorgeous! But my legs were tiring from all the walking so I went home and wrote my Christmas cards. Hehehe.

And that was it. My last weekend of 2006 in Ottawa.
